Day 1: Begin Safari from Mombasa to Taita Hills Saltlick
Leave your Mombasa or Malindi hotel very early in the morning and drive along the Mombasa - Nairobi road to Taita Hills Saltlick Game Sanctuary. Safari game viewing drive in Taita Hills Game sanctuary as you head towards Taita Hills Game Lodge for Lunch. Afternoon Safari Game drive in Taita Hills Saltlick game sanctuary.
Dinner and Overnight at the Saltlick Lodge
Sarova Saltlick Game Lodge in the heart of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is built on stilts around a waterhole and a saltlick - both attractions for a large array of wildlife, especially elephants. In the evenings the animals gather at the waterhole - a spectacular site to behold, to drink at the watering hole.
Day 2 : Safari from Taita Hills Saltlick back to Lake Jipe in Tsavo West National Park
Early morning safari game drive in Taita Hills Saltlick Game Sanctuary, breakfast at Saltlick Lodge then with picnic lunch drive to Tsavo West National Park - Tsavo west borders Taita Hills Saltlick game sanctuary - game viewing as you head to Lake Jipe with views of Taita Hills and various World War 2 sites. Enjoy game drive around the lake before settling down to enjoy our picnic lunch by the lake shores.
Lake Jipe is framed in tall reeds, with plenty of hippo, elephant and bird life painting its shallow waters. As a large fresh water source, Lake Jipe is a a refuge for animals and birds in the area. It gives you a true appreciation of wildlife and a real taste of Africa. On clear days Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, is visible in the background.
After a short rest continue with game drive along the lake then begin your trip back to saltlick lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: End Safari; Taita Hills Saltlick back to Mombasa
Early morning safari game drive in Taita Hills Saltlick Game Sanctuary, breakfast at Saltlick Lodge then check out to enjoy a mid morning Safari game drive then exit the Sanctuary and drive to Mombasa with lunch had at Voi town.
Arrive Mombasa/Diani hotel arriving in the afternoon.
