1 Day The Great Rift Valley – Volcanoes & Lakes
Come with us as we explore the untamed lands of Africa. The Great Rift Valley runs from the Middle East in the north to Mozambique in the south and it is possibly the most well-known rift valley on the planet. The area is geologically active, with volcanoes, hot springs, geysers and offers a dramatic landscape. The Great Rift Valley is also home to both Hell’s Gate National Park and Lake Naivasha, two of Kenya’s most popular tourist destinations offering spectacular scenery.
Hell’s Gate National Park is known for its dramatic volcanic rocky outcrops, caves, spewing geysers, rock towers, sandstone cliffs that were carved by a prehistoric lake, and water-gouged gorges. It feels dramatic yet peaceful. There is a wide variety of wildlife available in the park, however, fewer in numbers with large predators like lions or cheetahs rarely seen.
Get up close and personal with grazing buffalos, elands, or zebras as you ride the bicycle around the park. You can also explore the park on foot and enjoy walking in the savannah.
Lake Naivasha offers a rich biodiversity and it is famous for its hippos. You are almost guaranteed to see some. If you love adventure and excitement, then this is the trip for you!
